Sonic the Hedgehog 1: Painto edition 2 or simpler Sonic: Painto edtion 2 is a modificaton of Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) game and the first part of "Paintofitization" project. It contains a lot of features. It have 2 in name because is second attempt to make PE of S1.

- First post about Sonic: Painto edition 2 was posted on 24 April 2014 on SSRG. It was a video showing GHZ1 layout.
- 27 April 2014 - Boss Acts and Scrap Laybyrinth (more info in Scrapped stuff). Also, for first time there appeared start animations.
- 19 May 2014 - The Main Zone and zone hub's appear for first time.
- 1 June 2014 - new title screen and new The Main Zone look revealed. These were the last media showed before first release.
- 7 June 2014 - first public release.
- 15 June 2014 - first appereance of Skill Shop.
- 24 June 2014 - announced Bridge Zone.
- 26 June 2014 - first video of Bridge Zone.
- 02 July 2014 - first screenshot of Aqua Lake Zone (more info in Scrapped stuff).
- 06 July 2014 - Marble Zone Act 2 revealed.
- 12 July 2014 - second public release announcement.
- 14 July 2014 - new title screen look revealed.
- 19 July 2014 - first Cheese Cave screenshot.

- 8 August 2014 - Sound Test reveal. One day later appears video of it.
